Thanks for reminding me of this. There is actually a feature like this in my bot.

Typing a message that takes too long or is in itself too long (number of chars) will let the chat bot take up the conversation again.

It will say “Let’s keep it casual… no need for long messages :)”

I believe this is actually not a small data point. It’s huge. If your bot has a significant intelligence or a process it can model (like booking an uber), a long delay might indicate confusion. The bot can then start assisting the user again.
